A typical case
You supply several business customers, each with their own price list and platform. You upload the ERP file once and Primus regenerates every customer catalogue from it.
What is e-catalogue software?
E-catalogue software is a digital solution that lets companies capture, structure and publish their product information centrally. Unlike printed catalogues it allows fast updates, individual pricing and direct data exchange with platforms or customers.
The result is a digital product catalogue that is always current and can be aligned automatically with different procurement systems.
Manual catalogue maintenance hits its limits quickly
Different file formats, recurring updates and diverging platform requirements create high effort and a high error rate. Primus Catalog automates every one of those steps – from data import through mapping to export.
The way Primus Catalog operates
1Create customers
Every business customer gets their own profile – with prices, structures, classifications and platform connection. Each profile becomes a fully automated, individual catalogue.
2Connect the data source
Integrate your ERP or PIM system via FTP, SFTP or API. Alternatively upload your catalogue file by drag & drop – as Excel, CSV or CIF, for example.
3Automatic mapping
The software recognises your file structure and maps the content to BMEcat. Manual mapping is possible and is stored for future uploads.
4Personalise the catalogue
Define price lists, range filters, black and white lists or classifications. The system handles the assignment and tailors every catalogue precisely.
5Store bulk edits
Classification mapping, language changes, price clean-up or removing HTML tags – every adjustment can be automated for future catalogues as well.
6Define data targets
Transfer the optimised data automatically to platforms and marketplaces via API, FTP or SFTP – or export it as CIF, Excel or CSV.

Frequently asked questions about e-catalogue software
Nothing here that matches? Write to us – you will get a technical answer, not a template.
What sets Primus Catalog apart from other e-catalogue software?
Primus Catalog is fully automatable. Where many tools require manual uploads or mapping steps, Primus Catalog handles everything automatically – from import to export. That saves time, prevents errors and produces individual customer catalogues in seconds.
Which systems can I connect to Primus Catalog?
ERP, PIM or shop systems can be connected via API, FTP or SFTP. Direct interfaces to procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Mercateo, Coupa, Jaggaer, Onventis and many more are equally possible.
Do I need IT expertise to use Primus Catalog?
No. The interface is designed so that non-IT staff can work with it. Setup happens by drag & drop or API connection, and the automation runs in the background.
How secure is the cloud solution?
Primus Catalog is GDPR compliant, operated exclusively on German servers and secured with multiple redundancy. Sensitive product and customer data is processed encrypted.
Can I create individual catalogues for every customer?
Yes. Prices, ranges, classifications, languages or tax rates can be adjusted per customer. The software remembers every rule permanently and generates the matching catalogues on the next upload – for hundreds of customers at once if needed.
How long does getting started take?
You can start within minutes. After the first upload the software detects your file structure, creates templates and takes over the configuration – with no lengthy onboarding.
