Subject Supplier onboarding – catalogue data

Dear Sir or Madam,

  1. Please supply your catalogue as BMEcat 1.2, classified to eCl@ss 13.

    Primus Catalog
  2. In addition, our buyers order through SAP. We need a PunchOut connection via OCI 5.0.

    Primus PunchOut
  3. Alternatively we connect your Shopify shop, but the cart has to come back into our system.

  4. Only the items on the attached list are approved, at our framework prices.

    Primus Exclusion

Please get back to us by the end of the month.

Primus is not an IT project: your item data is enough, the software detects the file structure itself and checks every catalogue before it is sent.

Drop the file in

This is how Primus works with an item list: detect the columns, map the fields, validate and deliver to every procurement system. Try it with the sample file.

What does your customer ask for?

Pick the requirement. You will see which product fits, how it works and when it is typically used.

Primus Catalog

Your item list becomes a validated catalogue, with its own prices, ranges and formats for every customer.

How it works

  1. Upload a file or connect your ERP or PIM via API, FTP, SFTP
  2. Primus detects the columns and maps them to BMEcat; your mapping is saved
  3. Rules per customer: price lists, range filters, units, classification
  4. Validation against eCl@ss and UNSPSC, then export or delivery to the platform

Typical case

You supply several business customers, each with their own price list and platform. You upload the ERP file once and Primus regenerates every customer catalogue from it.

Primus PunchOut

Your catalogue becomes a shop the buyer opens from their procurement system. The cart goes back into their system.

How it works

  1. The catalogue lives in Primus Catalog
  2. Choose the protocol: OCI 4.0, OCI 5.0 or cXML
  3. Primus builds the PunchOut shop with your logo and your colours
  4. You give your customer the URL and authenticator token

Typical case

A tender requires an OCI connection to SAP. You create the PunchOut during the call and send the URL and token.

Primus Exclusion

Instead of spreadsheets going back and forth, your customer picks their range in an interface like an online shop. You approve.

How it works

  1. Your full catalogue lives in Primus
  2. Optionally narrow it by price, manufacturer, product group
  3. An invite link for your customer, no account and no installation
  4. You are notified, review the selection and generate the catalogue

Typical case

Central purchasing only wants approved items in its system. Instead of a spreadsheet with a tick column you send a link; the selection comes back to you as a finished catalogue.

Primus Connect

Your existing shop becomes the purchasing front end for your customers’ ERP systems. No second catalogue, no duplicate maintenance.

How it works

  1. The buyer starts in their ERP and lands in your shop
  2. Their prices, discounts and ranges from the shop apply
  3. Instead of checkout, the cart goes back as OCI or cXML
  4. Approval and ordering happen in their system

Typical case

You sell through Shopify with customer prices. A key account now wants to order only from SAP. They land in your shop and the cart goes to their SAP.

Frequently asked questions

Nothing here that matches? Write to us – you will get a technical answer, not a template.

Who is Pro3Con for?

For manufacturers, B2B distributors and e-commerce agencies that need to supply structured product data to their business customers – as a BMEcat catalogue, as a PunchOut connection or through an existing webshop.

Do I need IT expertise to work with it?

No. The interface is deliberately designed so that business departments can use it without technical background. Setup happens via drag & drop or an API connection, and the automation runs in the background.

Where is my data stored?

Exclusively on servers in Germany. Processing is GDPR compliant, redundantly secured and encrypted.

How quickly can I start?

Primus is not an IT project, it is ready to use. Usually your catalogue data is all it takes – the software detects the file structure automatically, creates templates and handles the configuration.

Which platforms and marketplaces are supported?

Every procurement platform we know of, including SAP Ariba, Unite Mercateo, Coupa, Onventis, Jaggaer and simple system. Whether a platform expects BMEcat, cXML, CSV or its own format makes no difference.

How many errors does your catalogue have?

Upload a BMEcat file. The validator checks it against the DTD and our quality rules and shows every error with its location. Free, no sign-up.
